This composer package integrates the Robo task runner with the Acquia Cloud API v2 PHP SDK to facilitate running Acquia CLI tasks either in Robo or Drush. If you aren't already using Robo or Drush and would like a command-line tool to interact with the Acquia Cloud API, it's recommended you use acquia_cli instead.

Installation

From your project's composer root directory, require this library:

$ composer require lullabot/robo-acquia

Usage in a Robofile.php

First, generate an Acquia Cloud API token. Once done, you should store that token in a secure place for retrieval in your command. For the purposes of this documentation, we will use the robo.yml in our project root.

You may want to specify a custom config yml and set appropriate permissions so that unpriveleged users cannot read the key / secret.

Then, in our RoboFile.php, we can add a new command to print out a list of tasks.

Waiting for task completion

Many Acquia Cloud API operations queue long-running tasks in the background. Unfortunately, the API does not respond with the task ID to allow for programmatic monitoring of the task execution. The Acquia Robo task provides for a rudimentary workaround for this. This method is not fool proof, since the program cannot be sure that the task it finds and monitors is the exact one triggered. If you have a busy Acquia task queu with the potential for a mismatch of Acquia tasks with the current running command list, do not use this.

If you are still here, here's how you can wait for a task to complete. In this example, we will be using Robo and waiting for the completion of a backup to complete and a code deploy to occur before proceeding.
